Colin Miller (born October 29, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the Buffalo Sabres organization of the National Hockey League (NHL). Miller was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the 5th round (151st overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Miller played three seasons (2010 – 2013) of major junior hockey with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), scoring 31 goals and 74 assists for 105 points, while earning 201 penalty minutes, in 174 games played. At the conclusion of the 2012–13 OHL season he was selected to receive the Mickey Renaud Captain's Trophy as the OHL team captain that best exemplifies leadership on and off the ice.
On July 29, 2013, the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) signed Miller to a three-year entry-level contract. During the 2014–15 season, on January 25, 2015, at the AHL All-Star Skills Competition in Utica, New York, Miller won the fastest skater competition, then proceeded to set the AHL record for hardest shot, clocking at 105.5 miles per hour.
On June 26, 2015, Miller was traded by the Kings along with Martin Jones and the 13th overall selection (Jakub Zboril) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Milan Lucic.
After playing one season in the Bruins' organization, he signed a two-year contract extension worth $2 million. On June 21, 2017, Miller was selected in the expansion draft by the Vegas Golden Knights.
On May 28, 2018, Miller scored the first ever Stanley Cup Finals goal in Vegas Golden Knights history during the first period of Game 1 of the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals.
On June 28, Buffalo Sabres acquire defenseman Colin Miller from Vegas Golden Knights for a second-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft and a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Miller finds new home in Buffalo July 04, 2019
The Vegas Golden Knights traded defenseman Colin Miller to the Buffalo Sabres last week. The 26-year-old native of Sault Ste. Marie blossomed into an excellent, versatile defenseman over the last two seasons with the Golden Knights, tallying 70 points (13 goals, 57 assists) in 147 games during that span.

Miller named 2nd star in Vegas’ romp November 19, 2018
Colin Miller tallied 3 assists last night – including an assist on the game-winning goal – as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Edmonton Oilers, 6-3. The 26-year-old defenseman finished the game with a team-high 21:17 of ice-time, 3 points and a +3 rating. The Sault Ste. Marie-native has regained his 2017-2018 offensive form of late, registering 5 assists in his last 5 games.

Miller re-signs with Golden Knights July 26, 2018
Colin Miller put pen to paper on a new four-year, $15.5 million deal with the Vegas Golden Knights earlier this month. The native of Sault Ste. Marie had a breakout season in 2017-18, tallying career highs in a plethora of categories, including games played (82), goals (10) and points (41). He was also a fixture on the Golden Knights blue line throughout their playoff run, averaging over 19 minutes of ice-time while chipping in with 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists) in 20 games.
