Selected by Philadelphia Flyers round 1 #24 overall 2015 NHL Entry Draft

Travis Konecny currently plays for the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL. Selected 24th overall by the Flyers in the 2015 NHL Draft, the skillful centre made his NHL debut in the 2016-17 season, registering 28 points in 70 games played. The London, Ontario-native had his breakout season in 2019-20, tallying an impressive 61 points (24 goals, 37 assists) in just 66 games played.

The NHL has unveiled the 2024 NHL All-Star roster. Each team is sending a representative to the event in Toronto, with 12 more players to be announced via fan voting. Congratulations to all the Newport clients who have made this year’s All-Star roster; Connor Bedard, Rasmus Dahlin, Tomáš Hertl, Travis Konecny, Elias Lindholm, Sam Reinhart, Brady Tkachuk, Robert Thomas, and Tom Wilson.

Konecny records first career hat trick in Flyers’ victory January 15, 2021

Travis Konecny delivered one of the top performances of the season to date, tallying 3 goals — his first NHL hat trick — as well as an assist, in the Philadelphia Flyers’ 5-2 defeat of the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night. The 23-year-old rising star finished the contest with 4 points, 3 shots on net and a +3 rating, and would eventually go on to be named the first star of the game.

Konecny named 2nd star in Flyers’ win March 03, 2020

Travis Konecny continued his hot play of late last night, guiding the Philadelphia Flyers to a convincing, 5-3 defeat of the New York Rangers. The 22-year-old winger tallied 2 points in the win (1 goal, 1 assist), marking the 4th time in the last 6 games that he has registered a multi-point performance. The London, Ontario-native has been one of the top scorers in the league during that span, tallying an impressive 4 goals and 8 assists.

Tkachuk, Konecny, O'Reilly, Pietrangelo, Scheifele and Markstrom among 2020 All-star nods January 06, 2020

The NHL announced the 2020 All-star rosters for the four divisions (Atlantic, Metropolitan, Central and Pacific) last week, with the notable inclusion of first-time All-stars Travis Konecny and Matthew Tkackuk. Konecny is in the midst of a breakout season with the Philadephia Flyers, tallying 36 points in 39 games to date. Tkackuk, meanwhile, is on pace for another 70-point campaign this season, after registering 77 points (34 goals, 43 assists) in 2018-19.  

Also named to the All-star squads were Ryan O’Reilly (Central Division, 3rd appearance), Alex Pietrangelo (Central Division, 2nd appearance), Mark Scheifele (Central Division, 2nd appearance) and Jacob Markstrom (Pacific Division, 1st appearance).

Konecny named 2nd star in Flyers’ romp December 20, 2019

Travis Konecny played a key role in the Philadephia Flyers’ 6-1 defeat of the Buffalo Sabres last night. The 22-year-old tallied 3 assists in the win, along with 2 shots on net and +1 rating. The London-native is in the midst of career year in 2019-20. Konecny is currently on a point-per-game pace, with 32 points (11 goals, 21 assists) in 32 games to date.

Konecny extends point streak in Flyers’ triumph November 11, 2019

Travis Konecny tallied a goal and an assist last night – extending his point streak to 4 games in the process – as the Philadelphia Flyers prevailed in the shootout, defeating the Boston Bruins, 3-2. The 22-year-old center has been arguably the best player on the Flyers this season. Through 17 games, the London-native has been excellent, leading his team in nearly every offensive category including goals (8) and points (19).

Travis Konecny registered a goal and an assist last night, as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Vegas Golden Knights by a score of 6-2. Coming off a career-high 49 points in 2018-19, the 22-year-old forward has gotten off to a great start this season. Through just 7 games, the London-native has already tallied 4 goals and 6 assists, both team-highs.

Konecny signs new 6-year contract September 17, 2019

Travis Konecny and the Philadelphia Flyers came to terms on a new contract on Monday, with the London-native agreeing to a 6-year, $33 million deal. After a successful rookie campaign in 2016-17 provided hints for his potential, the talented forward has since posted back-to-back 20-goal seasons, including a new career-high in points (49) in 2018-19.

Konecny scores again in Flyers’ win January 29, 2019

Travis Konecny scored for the second consecutive game last night, as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Winnipeg Jets, 3-1. The 21-year-old winger, who would eventually go on to be named the 2nd star of the contest, finished the game with 2 points (including the game-winning goal), along with 3 shots on net and a +2 rating. For the season, the product of London, Ontario has amassed 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) in 49 games played.

Konecny took game to new heights this season May 11, 2018

Only 20-years-of-age coming in to the 2017-18 season, nobody would have been surprised, least not the player himself, if Travis Konecny would have suffered a bit of a sophomore slump. But after impressing in his rookie campaign as a 19-year-old, the London-native took his game to a whole new level this season, while holding on to the fire and intensity that helped him be so effective as a rookie. The 2015 1st round pick played a key role in Philadelphia’s return to the playoffs, nearly doubling his point total from last season (28 to 47), while becoming a more responsible, two-way player (+17 rating).

Petr Mrazek made 36 saves and Travis Konecny tallied a goal and a assist, as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Boston Bruins 4-3 on Saturday night. Travis Konecny reached the 20-goal plateau last night, as the Philadelphia Flyers fell to the Detroit Red Wings in a 5-4, shootout loss. The 21-year-old rising star earned his club an all-important point in the contest, tallying the tying goal with just over five minutes to play in regulation. The native of London, Ontario has been a big reason why the Flyers currently hold the 1st Wildcard spot for the upcoming NHL Playoffs. The 2nd year forward has improved in every statistical category this season, registering 42 points (20 goals, 22 assists), 6 game-winning goals and an impressive plus/minus rating of +16.

Travis Konecny took his breakout season to new heights last night, as the Philadelphia Flyers cruised to a 7-4 defeat of the New York Rangers. The 20-year-old native of London, Ontario was named the 1st of the contest, tallying a goal and 2 assists in the win. Travis Konecny continued his strong preseason play on Wednesday night, tallying a goal and an assist in the Flyers’ 4-3 defeat of the New York Rangers. The 20-year-old rising star scored the game-winning goal in overtime, his second goal of the preseason, and 4th point overall. The London, Ontario-native proved to be a versatile forward in his rookie campaign, playing well on either wing when called upon. He tallied 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) in 70 games for Philadelphia last season.
