NHL Draft
Bean selected 13th by Carolina in the 1st round June 30, 2016
Jake Bean is now a member of the Carolina Hurricanes after being taken 13th overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The Calgary Hitmen D-man was the first WHL player to be selected in the draft, and the 3rd defenseman overall. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Bean was one of the best offensive defensemen in all of junior hockey last season, leading the WHL in goals by a defenseman with 24.
