Kessel narrowly edged in Conn Smythe vote June 17, 2016

Phil Kessel’s fantastic 2016 playoffs performance almost ended with a cherry on the top, as the superstar winger came within a whisker of claiming the Conn Smythe trophy. The Wisconsin-product was narrowly edged by his teammate Sidney Crosby in the Conn Smythe voting process, 63-60, in what was one of the closest votes in NHL history. Kessel was full value for his 2^nd place finish, leading his team in goals (10), points (22) and shots on net (98).
