Matt Moulson earns nomination for Lady Byng May 16, 2013
A week after a valiant effort saw his team eliminated in six games by the Pittsburgh Penguins, Matt Moulson was back in the news today, this time for the right reasons. He, along with Patrick Kane and Martin St. Louis, were nominated for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy.
Awarded to the player “adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability," Moulson was a perfect candidate, taking only two minor penalties all season, while scoring 44 points in 47 games.
It is the second year in a row that Moulson has been nominated for the award. Last year he took just three penalties (6 minutes), while scoring a career high, 36 goals.
