Mrazek named Red Wings rookie of the year June 19, 2015
Netminder Petr Mrazek was rewarded for his excellent NHL campaign earlier this month, as the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association named him Red Wings Rookie of the Year. The native of Ostrava, Czech Republic was impressive between the pipes, finishing the season with a record of 16-9-2, a goals-against average of 2.38 and save percentage of 0.918. He would later be named the starting goalie for Detroit in the NHL playoffs, leading them to a near upset of the Tampa Bay Lightning. In seven postseason games, the 23-year-old posted a 2.11 goals-against average, 0.925 save percentage and 2 shutouts.
