Richards back in Cup Finals for a second straight year June 01, 2015
Brad Richards is relishing the opportunity to take on his old team, as the Chicago Blackhawks will face off against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Finals, starting on Wednesday. The 35-year-old center began his career in Tampa Bay, and eventually won a Stanley Cup there, as well as a Conn Smythe trophy.
Eleven years and three teams later, Richards is in search of another Cup ring, and he is heating up at the perfect moment. The Murray Harbor-native has dished out five assists in his last five games, and played a key role in the Hawks Game 7 triumph over the Anaheim Ducks, where he was named the 3rd star of the match.
