Cizikas, Islanders come up big in win over Pens May 08, 2013
He may just be a rookie, but Casey Cizikas is starting to make a name for himself in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Playing limited minutes on the 3rd line, the 2009 4th round pick came up big last night, scoring once and adding 2 assists in the Isles 6-4 victory.
Centering a line with Matt Martin and speedster Michael Grabner, Cizikas finished with a +4 rating, the highest of any skater in the game. With the Penguins attempting to pull their goalie in the 3rd period, Cizikas’ timely goal with 1:16 to play put the game out of reach. It was his second goal in as many games.
In his first full campaign in the NHL, the center from Toronto, Ontario chalked up 6 goals and 15 points in 45 games.
