Bailey and Strome lead Islanders to victory April 16, 2015

Josh Bailey tallied a goal and an assist and Ryan Strome scored the game-winner, as the New York Islanders cruised to a 4-1 win over the Washington Capitals last night, in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference First Round matchup.

Bailey was named the first star of the contest after assisting on the opening goal as well as scoring the insurance marker in the 2nd period. It was the Bowmanville, Ontario-native’s first career NHL playoff goal. Strome meanwhile, who was playing in his first ever NHL playoff game, put the Isles ahead for good early in the second period, recording his first ever playoff goal (and point) in the process.
