Iginla and O’Reilly help keep Avs’ playoff hopes alive March 27, 2015

Jarome Iginla and Ryan O’Reilly were named the 1^st and 2^nd stars last night, as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Vancouver Canucks by a score of 4-1. Iginla opened the scoring early in the second period, scoring his 26^th goal of the season. The 37-year-old winger played a pivotal role in the contest, taking six shots and leading all forwards with 22:35 of ice time. The superstar sniper has been hot of late, tallying four goals in his last five games. As for O’Reilly, his two assists pushed his point-scoring streak to six games. In his last 16 games, the versatile centerman has been a model of consistency, tallying a point or more in all but two contests.
