Iginla and O’Reilly help keep Avs’ playoff hopes alive March 27, 2015
Jarome Iginla and Ryan O’Reilly were named the 1st and 2nd stars last night, as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Vancouver Canucks by a score of 4-1. Iginla opened the scoring early in the second period, scoring his 26th goal of the season. The 37-year-old winger played a pivotal role in the contest, taking six shots and leading all forwards with 22:35 of ice time. The superstar sniper has been hot of late, tallying four goals in his last five games. As for O’Reilly, his two assists pushed his point-scoring streak to six games. In his last 16 games, the versatile centerman has been a model of consistency, tallying a point or more in all but two contests.
