Backes scores 4 in Blues’ romp January 07, 2015
For seventeen minutes, it must have felt like there was only one player on the ice. In that span, St. Louis Blues’ captain David Backes scored four straight goals, blowing the game wide open en route to a 6-0 drubbing of the Arizona Coyotes. It was the second time in the gritty forward’s career that he managed the feat, the last time coming against the Red Wings in 2009. Unsurprisingly, Backes was named the first star of the game, adding 6 shots and 4 hits in the contest.
