Palat named one of three nominees for Calder Trophy April 23, 2014

A day after his teamed bowed out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ondrej Palat was named a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy on Wednesday.  A 7^th round pick in 2011, the Czech-born winger was a consistent performer all season long, winning Rookie of the Month honours on two occasions (January and March). His 59 points ranked second among first year players, and was just 3 shy of the Lightning rookie mark, recorded by Brad Richards in 2000-01.
