Palat receives Calder Trophy consideration March 20, 2014

After being drafted 208^th overall in the 2011 Entry Draft, Ondrej Palat has been one of the NHL’s most pleasant surprises this season. The 22-year-old winger has been a clutch performer all year long for the Tampa Bay Lightning, scoring 18 goals and adding 28 assists in 68 games played. He also owns one of the best plus/minus ratings among forwards in the NHL, sitting 5^th with an impressive mark of +28. It is of no surprise, then, that Palat has begun to garner strong consideration for rookie of the year honours.
