Flyers prospect Laughton named Team Canada captain December 19, 2013

With the 2014 WJHC set to begin on December 26th, Oshawa Generals forward Scott Laughton was named captain of the U-19 Canadian World Junior hockey team today. Drafted 20th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2012, Laughton has had an excellent season in the OHL to date, scoring 24 goals in just 29 games. Still just 19 years old, the product of Oakville, Ontario has already played eleven games of professional hockey, six for the Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL, as well as five in the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers.
