CAL CLUTTERBUCK REACHES 1,000 GAMES PLAYED MILESTONE November 23, 2023 - NHL.com
Cal Clutterbuck, who started his career as the Minnesota Wild's third-round pick (72nd overall) in the 2006 NHL Draft, has just passed the 1,000-game milestone. Renowned for his physical play, he led the league in hits during his rookie season before joining the New York Islanders in 2013. Notably, Clutterbuck holds the record for the most hits in NHL history. He got to his 1,000th game playing for just two teams, 344 games with the Minnesota Wild and 656 with the New York Islanders. Through his lengthy tenure in the NHL, Clutterbuck has become a leader of the Islanders as his teammate Casey Cizikas said, “He's a guy that everyone listens to and looks up to,” Cizikas said. “In the dressing room, he gets along with everybody. He cracks jokes. He's extremely smart. And he's someone that, when he talks, you listen.”
