MATT DUMBA, SCOTT LAUGHTON, BRADY TKACHUK, AND TOM WILSON NOMINATED FOR KING CLANCY MEMORIAL TROPHY May 09, 2023 - NHL.com

Congratulations to Matt Dumba, Scott Laughton, Brady Tkachuk, and Tom Wilson on being nominated for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy! This award recognizes the NHL player who exemplifies leadership on and off the ice and has made a significant humanitarian contribution to thier community.

 

All four of these players have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to charitable causes, using their platform as professional athletes to make a positive impact:

 

Matt Dumba's nomination is a result of his tireless efforts to promote diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility in hockey through his "Hockey Without Limits" initiative. He has also been involved with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the Ronald McDonald House Charities. In addition, he has been a vocal advocate for social justice and racial equality, using his platform to raise awareness and drive change.

 

Scott Laughton has been nominated for this award as a result of his involvement with various charitable causes, including the Flyers Wives Carnival, which raises funds for local charities, and the "Little Smiles" organization, which helps children who are hospitalized or undergoing medical treatment. He has also been involved with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and has helped raise money for cancer research.

 

Brady Tkachuk’s nomination is a result of his involvement with various charitable causes, including the Do It For Daron Foundation and other mental health organizations. He has also been actively involved with various initiatives that support the growth and development of youth hockey and has started a foundation with the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, Tkachuk’s Captains, providing support and mentorship to children in need.

 

Tom Wilson has been nominated for this award for his involvement with various charitable causes, including youth-focused charities and the "So Kids Can" initiative, which helps support organizations that provide critical resources to children in need. He has also been actively involved with the "Hockey Fights Cancer" campaign, which raises awareness and funds for cancer research.
