Lightning Lock Up Cirelli & Cernak with new 8-Year Deals July 14, 2022 - NHL
Anthony Cirelli and the Tampa Bay Lightning came to terms on an eight-year, $50 million contract extension on Wednesday. The 24-year-old forward had 43 points (17 goals, 26 assists) in 76 appearances in the 2021/22 season with the Lightning.
Teammate Eric Cernak also agreed to a new 8-year contract extension worth $41.6 million. The 25-year-old defenseman had 13 points (one goal, 12 assists) in 55 games for the Lightning in 2021/22.
Both players played integral roles en route to winning back-to-back Stanley Cups with the organization in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 NHL seasons.
