Nick Foligno became the 364th player in NHL history to appear in 1,000 regular season games last night, as the Boston Bruins defeated the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime.

Originally selected in the first round (28th overall) by the Ottawa Senators in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Foligno has played for the Sens, Columbus Blue Jackets and Toronto Maple Leafs prior to joining the Bruins. Playing parts of 9 seasons in Columbus, Foligno was named the sixth captain in franchise history. Over his career, Foligno has amassed 205 goals and 292 assists for 497 points.

Foligno's father, Mike, played in 1,018 games in the NHL himself from 1979-94 with the Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres, Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers.

Foligno's brother, Marcus, is at 658 career games since debuting in 2011 for the Buffalo Sabres. Now a member of the Minnesota Wild, the Foligno brothers will face off on Wednesday night when the Bruins continue their road trip in St. Paul.
