Samsonov’s streak continues in Caps’ win January 17, 2020
Ilya Samsonov impressed again last night, guiding the Washington Capitals to a 5-2 defeat of the New Jersey Devils. The 22-year-old netminder turned aside 32 shots in the win, and would eventually go on to be named the 2nd star of the contest. The native of Magnitogorsk, Russia has been the hottest goaltender in the league of late, registering an incredible 9 wins in a row. For the season, Samsonov has an impressive record of 14-2-1 with a GAA of 2.10 and .926 save percentage.
