Kessel looking forward to leadership role in Arizona July 25, 2019
Recently acquired by the Arizona Coyotes via trade, Phil Kessel is excited by the prospect of being a leader on his new club. With the Coyotes predominately built around a young corps of prospects, Kessel, who turns 32 in October, will play the mentor role for one of the first times in his career. The Wisconsin-native will have a lot of wisdom to impart to his new teammates. The two-time Stanley Cup champion has and continues to be one of the premier wingers in the game, having come off another excellent campaign in 2018-19 where he tallied 82 points (27 goals, 55 assists) in 82 games played.
