Markstrom off to solid start in Canucks’ win October 04, 2018
Jacob Markstrom was named the 2nd star last night, guiding the Vancouver Canucks to a 5-2, opening night victory over the Calgary Flames. The 28-year-old goaltender steered aside 33 of the 35 shots he faced in the contest, including a 17-shot flurry by the Flames in the 3rd period. The native of Gavle, Sweden is looking to build off of a first full season as the Canucks’ No. 1 goalie that saw him register a 2.71 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.
