Monahan rises to the occasion in big Flames’ win November 20, 2017
Sean Monahan netted his first career hat trick on Saturday night, helping his Calgary Flames battle back to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 in overtime. Down 3-1 heading into the 2nd period, the Brampton, Ontario-native put the Flames on his back, scoring his team’s next 3 goals, all on the power play. He would go on to finish the game with 4 points and 5 shots on net. For the season, Monahan has 20 points in just 19 games (11 goals, 9 assists) and sits 2nd in the NHL with 4 game-winning goals.
