Hornqvist provides Penguins’ with Stanley Cup clinching goal June 12, 2017
Patric Hornqvist was named the first star last night, scoring the winning goal in the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 2-0 defeat of the Nashville Predators, giving them their 2nd consecutive Stanley Cup triumph. The 30-year-old winger finished the playoff run with 5 goals and 4 assists, and a career-best +6 rating. The Stanley Cup clinching goal was made all the more special by the fact that Hornqvist scored it against Nashville, the team he had played much of his career for. The Swedish star was drafted by the Predators in 2005, and was a top player for the club from 2009 to 2014.
