Phil Kessel put in a stellar performance on Saturday, guiding the Pittsburgh Penguins to a convincing, 6-2 defeat of the Presidents’ Trophy winners the Washington Capitals. The Madison-native tallied a game-high 3 points in the contest, including 2 goals and 4 shots on net. He would go on to be named the 1st star of the game. Kessel’s production has been monumental to the Penguins’ success in their current playoff run. Through 7 games, the sharpshooting winger currently sits tied for 1st overall in goals (7) and plus/minus (+9), and 2nd in points (11).
