Phil Kessel tallied a goal and an assist last night, as the Pittsburgh Penguins began their Stanley Cup defense with a 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The sharpshooting winger also added a game-high 7 shots on net in the contest, and would go on to be named second star of the game. The Wisconsin-native tallied the game-winning goal on the power play, a situation he has thrived in this season. Kessel's 30 points (8 goals, 22 assists) ranked him 5th overall in power play points in 2016-17.
