Matt Cooke ready for new challenge July 15, 2013
Matt Cooke is on his way back west, this time with the Minnesota Wild. The gritty forward inked a three-year-deal worth $7.5 million with the Wild, a team he played frequently against in the now defunct Northwest Division while a member of the Vancouver Canucks. The veteran winger will be counted on to play a shutdown role on the team’s 3rd line, while at the same time chipping in his usual 10-15 goals. Cooke has been a double-digit scorer in ten of his 14 seasons to date.
